Musician and Educator

Inspiring children’s imaginations, creativity and vocabulary through retellings and explorations of traditional tales

My name is Eve, a musician and educator. I am a songwriter and performer in a Bristol-based band, have a first-class degree in Songwriting and offer music and storytelling workshops, clubs and tutoring. I have decided to take the exciting leap from school-based employment to offering my passion and expertise as an independent educator.

My passion is story and its ability to shape our worlds. The long tradition of myth-making echos deep in our creation stories and identities. Via orality, language, semiology, and intra-action, we develop narratives. The collection and retelling of myth actualises as a sense of identity, understanding, and belonging. Characters, place and narrative hold emotion, reflecting who we are and our understanding of what happens to us in life.

Driven by this tradition, my workshops and sessions seek to inspire children’s imaginations, creativity and vocabulary through retellings and explorations of traditional tales, interspersed with original music, poetry and movement. Using storytelling as a framework and communication tool, children can experiment, lay their head in a different way and see how new their world has become.

Workshops and sessions can be private or in-settings, tailored for place and ability, size of group, and age. Content can match curriculum and topics, introducing new explorations, or be provided from our repertoire.
